December Photo Challenge for Primary Students

November 27, 2017 by

I wanted to take a minute to offer you a very special freebie. It’s one that is near and dear to my heart because it focuses on gratitude, family, and the things we already have.

Appreciating what we do have instead of what we don't can really help us all express gratitude in our students’ lives. I want this challenge to be a chance for us to connect with our students on another level. Your students will go home and take photos of things, people, and experiences from their lives. The best part? We get to go on that journey with them!

As we head into the holiday season, it’s easy to get wrapped up in our to-do’s, and lose sight of what’s really important.

Children observe everything we do as we hurry along and do what we need to do. At the same time, It’s difficult for children to process the idea that people and experiences are more important than things.

Appreciating what we do have instead of what we don’t can really help us all express gratitude in our daily lives.

I want this challenge to be a chance for us to connect with our students on another level.

Your students will go home and take photos of things, people, and experiences from their lives.

The best part? We get to go on that journey with them!

Students will be encouraged to snap as many photos on the 24 day challenge “calendar.”

To share the photos, you can have your students can print them, email them, share to an online group or forum, or use a hashtag on social media. For example, I came up with #MrsGarciasPhotoChallenge for me:)

You could even give students and parents the option to choose whatever works for them!

Everyone has a camera phone nowadays, so this is a great way to get the parents involved.

You decide how you want to do it with our December Photo Challenge Calendar and editable letter that is included!

I provided a template for what I would do in my classroom, but it’s really for you to make it your own. 🙂

The possibilities for this are ENDLESS!!! I can’t wait to see how you implement these in your classroom.

Here’s the FREE December Photo Challenge. Enjoy!
