We are happy to feature TEN more 2nd Grade Literacy Centers for the month of November! You will find a variety of phonics, language, vocabulary, and listening & speaking activities with these November centers. These centers will be beneficial to any second grade classroom!

Hard and Soft C and G: Students will distinguish hard and soft c/g sounds within words.
R-Controlled Vowel Mats: Students will read the r-controlled vowel passage and write all the r-controlled vowel words in the passage.
Character Cards (Fairness): Students will read the Character Clip Card sentence and decide if it is fair or not fair.
Stretch a Sentence: Students will grab a subject card and write a sentence about that subject using the “Stretch a Sentence” mat.
Parts of Speech Sort: Students will sort the word cards based on the part of speech.
Vivid Verb Swaps: Students will be categorizing verbs based on their synonyms using the puzzles.
Poetry Mats: Students will read the poetry passages and answer questions based on the passage.
Non-Fiction Discovery Mats: Students will read the poetry passages and answer questions based on the passage.
What Do You Think? Students will be pulling cards from the “What Do You Think?” jar and asking and answering the questions with their peers.
Dictionary Skills: Students will be labeling the parts of the “dictionary words.”
