One of the most frequent questions I get from teachers is, “How do you teach and manage The Writing Process?!”
Ah…writing. I have a love/hate relationship with writing.
Maybe you can relate…
I didn’t always love teaching writing like I do now…
I used to breeze over it, hoping that my students’ writing would improve with the random strategies I would gather from here and there.
The truth is, I didn’t have it together.
Mainly, because I couldn’t handle the fact that all my students were in different places in their writing each week.
I didn’t know how to help my students manage themselves in the writing process.

Don’t make things difficult.
Here’s a power tool to keep you organized during your writing block.
I created these “Writing Process Posters” because I needed a way to manage my Writer’s Workshop.
I hang these on my wall so my students can tell me exactly where they are in their writing.
They let me know where they are in the process by moving their magnet or clip.
You can print this and paste the posters on the back of cardboard and use wooden name clips, or you use printable magnet paper so students can move their names on the magnetic whiteboard in your classroom.
I also made individual writing process cards so your students can keep these in their writer’s workshop folder.
