Whether you are teaching virtually or in person, a lot of our student work is being done on white boards. And replacing the erasers can get expensive! Here are some inexpensive alternatives to white board erasers you can use.
~ Felt Squares ~
Purchase some felt pieces and cut them up into four sections. You can get them super cheap at craft stores or Walmart (usually only 25 cents a sheet).
~ Socks as Erasers~
Have parents send in a pair of old socks. They easily slip over little hands and your students will have two in case one gets lost. 😉
~ Round Make-up Remover Pads ~
I love the idea of the round makeup pads because they can get replaced when they get yucky.
~ Wash Cloths ~
Grab a package of wash cloths from the Dollar Store and cut into fourths. Voila!
~ Magic Erasers ~
I buy the magic erasers from the Dollar Store, then cut them into thirds. They work wonderfully!
~ Fun and Creative Erasers ~
“I made pompoms and glued wiggly eyes on them reading buddy/white board eraser.” ~ Nicole M.
~ Gloves ~
“My students used those knit black gloves and they kept their black dry erase marker in it.” ~ Candice J.
~ Old Sweatshirt or Sweatpants ~
“Cut up old dark sweatpants or sweatshirts into squares.” ~ Stephanie W.
~ Pink Hair Curlers for Erasers ~
“Curlers, like the pink kind for your hair, work well and they’re cheap! You can get a pack of 8 at the Dollar Tree.” ~ Melanie S.
