These Science of Reading-Aligned Alphabet Decodable Readers are just what you need to help your early learners on the journey to unlocking the reading code! SOR-aligned ABC Decodable Readers are the answer for your Preschool, Pre-K, or Kindergarten classroom!

Not sure where to start your kindergarten students on their SOR journey, especially when they aren’t yet ready to decode words?

Not only will your students learn letter names and the sounds they spell (letter-sound correspondence), but they will also learn fluent handwriting for both capital and lowercase letters using the included verbal pathway.

They will also have the opportunity to learn vocabulary, practice concepts about print (CAP) and learn how books work, and start learning about beginning sounds! That’s what we call a powerhouse resource!

You’ll notice that this reader does not include words – that’s what makes it truly decodable for students! It does include the letter, the sound it spells (scaffolded by mouth clipart for that phoneme), and a rebus image of the beginning sound image on that page.

Students will read the pages like this: “M, m, /m/, mouse.” The sign language for each letter is included on each of these pages, giving students an action to help internalize the information.
