Character Cards: Thoughtful Another great character card center! This month features thoughtfulness! A timely character trait for this time of year.

Linking Words: Link two sentences together with joining words. LITERALLY...use your links! The novelty doesn't get better than this!

Spelling Bee: Students can practice "being the teacher" and giving a 10 word spelling test with common 2nd Grade sight words! They can also keep tally by using the cards provided.

Make a Sentence: Students will be given a picture and nine vocabulary words to go with the picture. They will then write a sentence (or two) of their choice that include the words they are given.

Searching for Clues: These task cards are GREAT for practicing valuable context clues skills. I truly believe that if we can explicitly teach these skills in isolation, students will be able to use context clues when reading independently. Accountable Talk Prompts: These Accountable Talk Prompts are perfect for practicing appropriate accountable talk. Students can choose from the four types of accountable talk as they discuss their answers to the prompts!
