I can’t wait to share our May Literacy Centers lineup with you! But first, I just have to share some amazing feedback we have been getting about these centers from teachers just like you!

“Wow! This is by-far the best product I have purchased on TPT (and I buy a lot of different things). I searched and searched for whole year literacy centers. I was looking for centers that were not monthly themed so they could be used at any point in the year with any level student. I was hesitant to purchase because I thought I would get 1 R-controlled vowel page, or 1 poetry mat. However, I was extremely impressed to find MANY of these activities that I may pick from. I didn’t think it could get any better and then I looked in the additional resources files and found not only a very well organized scope and sequence, but neat labels that match each center to the CCSS standard it matches. Students will be sorting using the following reference categories: Encyclopedia, Dictionary, Thesaurus, and Bibliography

Students will be identifying story elements on the mats provided.

Students will be listening to various stories and answering the questions on the listening mats.

Students will be naming words/things that fit into the category mats provided.

Students will be writing and/or drawing the cause and effect from the cards provided.

Students will be using the cue cards to create their own recipes.

Students will be reading and sorting formal vs. informal language.

Students will be changing the verbs in the sentence to create new meaning and a new sentence.

Students will be sorting long vowels and placing them in the correct long vowel goal!

Each month includes 10 Common Core Aligned Literacy Centers that can be rearranged and reused throughout the year! We have done the ground work for you! You don’t have to think about which standard each activity aligns to! It’s all laid out for you.

We have provided a scope and sequence so you can see exactly how the activities line up with the standards. That way, you don’t have to worry about what’s coming for those of you who plan far in advance.
