Team points for Positive Behavior

Using team points is a great way to encourage positive behavior. I have done tallies on the board with different table colors as headers. I decided to try something new this year and it doesn’t cost a thing. At the end of the week, each team tallies up their points, and the best part is that they all have a fair chance to be a winner. Even a sticker will make them happy! I have a benchmark and incentive for 20 30 and 40 points written on the board at the beginning of the week so they know what they are working towards. At the end of the week, I tie a Math skill into the calculating process and they tell me how much they earned.  I also use the honor system which is a great way to build trust into your relationships with the students.
