I am an admitted TikTok fan, but this was not always the case. Just three months ago, I was a firm believer that TikTok was for teenagers. Plus, TikTok is chock full of inappropriate dances and bathroom humor, right? No way was I about to spend time on TikTok! Do any of you share that belief? Nervous or even unwilling to take that plunge? I had no clue that there were TikTok Teachers to follow until I heard about some teachers from the Fearless Firsties.
Well, I am here to change your mind too! In actuality, TikTok is quick and easy access to teacher tips, teacher appreciation, teacher humor, classroom lessons, and ideas. This info is shared from real teachers on the front lines, in the classrooms like you every day. These TikTok teachers will share fresh ideas with you daily, make you laugh and cry regularly, reassure you that you are not alone in your teacher problems, and share some great resources with you. Recently, I have spent hours (shh, let’s keep that a secret) looking at some of the absolute best TikTok Teachers out there, and my friend, these are TikTok Teachers that you’re going to want to follow!
Top TikTok Teachers to Follow
- @educationtothecore is one of my favorites to follow. It highlights our resources and shows primary teachers how to implement various unique curricula; if you want alerts on a new curriculum or tips on using the curriculum you already own, @educationtothecore has it all!
- @mrs.shewolf34 is Rebecca Schlafer-Miller. She exudes positivity as a mom of two, a teacher, and a lover of all things snacks!
- @kirstenmarie313Â Kirsten is a 3rd-grade teacher. One of my favorite shares from her is ‘Fun Day in a Bag’! She shows several stem activities for kiddos that she can distribute in individual bags to her students.
- @ms_frazzled is a kindergarten teacher that loves to take her work home. Ms. F has a series of videos called using kindergarten words in real life. I love it when she challenges her significant other to guess what the kindergarteners are trying to say.
- @_bigheartslittleminds I hope you recognize Sarah as she also is the teacher in @educationtothecore. She gives classroom management tips, organizational tips, and my personal favorite, all of the things you didn’t know you needed.
Additional TikTok Teachers to Follow
- @fabuloslyfirstgrade I can personally relate to Ms. S as she shares personal struggles in her own life, such as surgery for a thyroid tumor (we have matching scars). And she shares things that maybe other teachers relate with, such as her difficulties in becoming a teacher. And as you’ll notice in her title, she admittedly is a horrible speller!
- @readlikearockstar Naomi O’Brien leads the way on TikTok as a leader in Black Lives Matters for teachers and how to support and teach our students about race and all inequalities!
- @thenewkiddinator Anna teaches 3rd-grade and has lots of videos with teacher hacks and games.
- @kenziiewenz (MacKenzie Adams) is a kindergarten teacher with 418,000 followers and 9.6 million likes on her videos. Why? Because she shares awesome ideas and lessons that she does in her kindergarten room.
- @ms.mccourt is real and so much fun to watch. I am waiting like her other followers to see what grade administration changed her to for next year. I absolutely love her. The “It’s a hard knock life video” in which she talks about teacher problems like technology and endless meetings is my favorite.
Follow These Too!
- @j_mama_teacher is Natasha Jefferson, and she gets REAL! I love her videos on teacher appreciation week, her daughter, and the information she shares on race and social equality!
- @mrspopeslibrary Mrs. Pope is an elementary librarian and a reading activist with fun ideas to get students to read more!
- @thatfirstgradeteacher Miss O. goes behind the scenes of teaching. She is referred to by some as Miss Honey due to her great disposition.
- @_perry_teaching_kinders is a kindergarten teacher that cracks me up regularly with her then and now series on kindergarteners. She takes the personality traits of her kinders and shows what type of adult these children will become; spot-on as I see these traits in all my friends now!
- @monicageldart is a teacher impersonator. She is straight-up hilarious in her videos of a variety of teacher personalities. It is refreshing to sit back and laugh at the end of a hard day, and she definitely brings the funny!
TikTok is a great way to network with other teachers, learn some new classroom strategies, and become part of a great community. I hope after reading this list, you find some time to check out these great TikTok Teachers. If you already know some great TikTok Teachers, or maybe you are a TikTok Teacher, please share with us at Education to the Core (maybe for Part 2). And, hop on to our TikTok site @educationtothecore to see some great resources and maybe a freebie or two!
